TECHNOLOGY AND EDUCATION ARE THE PASSIONS of Mrs. Filber who feels very blessed to be a part of the technology teaching team at New Testament Christian Academy. She loves the mandate that the staff and students are mindful of on a daily basis, and that is, in all of what they do, they strive for “Excellence without Excuses”. As lesson plans are prepared and projects for the students are designed the teachers are always mindful that it is unto God that we do all of our work. Mrs. Filber loves the leadership of the administration that inspires the teachers to consider the legacy they are leaving at the academy and the imprint they are making on student lives.
Mrs. Filber has been working as a software consultant for over twenty years. She worked primarily in software design, website creation, database design and application support and training. Desiring to share her love of technology in more impactful way Mrs. Filber began pursuing a Masters of Education degree from Concordia University in 2011 focusing on Educational Technology.
Mrs. Filber is looking forward to taking advantage of the many Web 2.0 tools that are available to educators to inspire student learning and creativity. Students will be creating digital stories and learning what it means to be a digital citizen among many other projects throughout the year.
When she’s not watching the next episode of Downton Abbey, you’ll find Mrs. Filber enjoying time with her husband, Peter, and Son, Harrison. As a family, they enjoy a good competitive game of Trouble and riding bikes together. Mrs. Filber also loves to tell stories and you might just see her around NTCA as "Miss Rosie" visiting the 3k and 4k classrooms.
