“... Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast. And now all these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”
1 Corinthians 13:1-13
Meet Mrs. Jessica Lindeen
MRS. LINDEEN LOVES THAT STUDENTS ARE FREE TO practice and express their Christian faith at NTCA. She believes teaching at NTCA has been a blessing and feels she is learning something new each and every day. She loves that God is present in this school, and within each member of the staff. She can see everyday that there is a strong community of faith within the foundations here. She also loves the administration and staff, who have supported her and helped her grow as a teacher and mentor.
Mrs. Lindeen knew she wanted to be a teacher since she was very young, but confirmed it when she was in her junior year of High School in Oak Creek. She had a mathematics teacher that influenced her to want to provide the best learning experience that she can so that all students feel value and worth within themselves. Mrs. Lindeen believes teachers are leaders, helpers, listeners, and should encourage students to WANT to learn. It is her strong intention that all students feel comfortable in their learning environment, so that they can continue their intellectual and social growth through middle school, high school, college, and beyond! She believes in making her students the best they can be so that they can become effective citizens of the community around them.
Outside of teaching, she loves to spend time with her family. As all of her students know, her family includes her wonderful husband, her beautiful daughter, Evelyn, and their two cats, Mufasa and Butters. They love to go for walks in the park, play board games, see new movies, and try out new restaurants. About once a month, they invite friends and family over for a board game night, which gets pretty intense and competitive! Mrs. Lindeen also looks forward to summer each year, because she loves playing basketball and volleyball, swimming, and spending time with her daughter as she grows.
This is her favorite verse for several reasons. First, it is one of the verses that were read at her wedding in July of 2012. She believe its message about love, and she wanted that to be known at her wedding. Second, she believes in the message that all things should be done in the love of God. Love in her marriage, love in her profession as a teacher, and love in all that she does. To Mrs. Lindeen it is about praising God, and showing God's love to others.
